Remove rust with Evapo-Rust on submersible parts
Here is a brief explanation of how you can restore your tools or some parts of appliances, such as lawn mowers, as long as they are suitable for immersion.
- Prepare the object: Remove excess dirt and oil before immersion. Pour enough EVAPO-RUST® into a container to completely cover the rusty object. The type of container does not matter as the product does not harm non-rusted steel; it is safe for other metals and does not affect plastic.
- Soak: Immerse the object to be restored in the solution and let it act for 30 minutes (for light rust) or up to 24 hours for heavier rust.
- Rinse: Remove excess product and dirt with water. If deep rust remains in any crevices, immerse again the object until it is completely gone. Metal that is not rusted will not be affected. NOTE: This step is especially important for best results.
- Last step: When the rust is gone, rinse it again with water and let it air dry to prevent rusting for two weeks.
Remove rust with Evapo-Rust on NON-submersible parts
In the case of lawn mower parts or any other tools that cannot be immersed in liquid, you can also use EVAPO-RUST®, but following slightly different steps.
- Preparation: Prepare the surface by removing any dirt or grease. You can help yourself with a cloth or something that can help you to clean it without dirtying your hands.
- Application: In order to apply the product on the surface, you should soak a cloth with Evapo-Rust and place it on the object. You can rub lightly to help it penetrate more easily. Even so, it is necessary to let it act for a few hours so that it can remove the rust present.
- It’s time to rinse! Remove the rag and remove any residue with a soft towel and water; once it is ready, you can leave it to air dry. (Reapply if necessary in the most corroded areas).
- Finish: Rinse with water and let the item air dry to prevent oxidation for up to two weeks.
